Microsoft 365 powered by Work IQ: Built to Support How You Work
Context is what separates a useful answer from a generic one. This video introduces Work IQ, the intelligence layer behind Microsoft 365 Copilot that draws on data, memory, and inference to understand your professional context and personalize your experience across the applications you use every day. Watch the video to see how Work IQ shapes Copilot responses around your role, your projects, and your organization.
What is Work IQ in Microsoft 365?
Work IQ is an intelligence layer built into Microsoft 365 that helps Copilot and other agents better understand you, your work, and your company. It brings together three core elements:
- Data – the information you work with across Microsoft 365.
- Memory – context about your ongoing work, patterns, and preferences.
- Inference – the ability to draw connections and insights from that data and memory.
By combining these, Work IQ helps Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents provide more relevant, context-aware assistance that aligns with how you actually work day to day.
How does Work IQ support the way my team works?
Work IQ is designed to support your existing workflows rather than forcing you to change them. It does this by:
- Understanding your work context – It uses data, memory, and inference to recognize what you’re working on and who you’re working with.
- Making Copilot more relevant – Because Copilot can “know” more about your work and your company, its suggestions, summaries, and content generation are more tailored to your situation.
- Connecting information – Work IQ helps surface related files, conversations, and insights so you spend less time searching and more time acting.
The result is a more connected experience across Microsoft 365 that can help your team focus on higher-value work while the system handles more of the context gathering in the background.
How does Work IQ change the way we use Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Work IQ helps reimagine how you use Microsoft 365 Copilot by making it more context-aware and aligned with your organization’s work patterns. Specifically, it:
- Improves relevance – Copilot can draw on Work IQ’s data, memory, and inference to provide responses that better reflect your projects, teams, and company context.
- Strengthens personalization – Over time, Copilot can better adapt to how you work, which types of content you use most, and how you collaborate.
- Supports company-wide knowledge – Because Work IQ is built to understand your company as well as individual users, it can help Copilot surface insights that are useful across teams and departments.
Together, this reshapes Copilot from a generic assistant into a more informed partner that is tuned to your organization’s way of working.
